Getting Started with CleverYou
What is CleverYou?
CleverYou is an intelligent learning platform that uses AI to create personalised educational experiences. It combines adaptive learning with voice AI to provide interactive sessions tailored to your learning style and pace. At its core are two products: CleverCoaches — AI voice tutors that teach any subject conversationally — and CleverNotes, which transforms any source material into smart summaries, study guides, and quizzes. Whether you are a student, a professional, or a lifelong learner, CleverYou adapts to how you think and how you learn.
Creating Your Account
Getting started takes less than a minute. CleverYou uses Clerk for secure authentication — you can sign up with your email or a social login. Once signed in, your account is created automatically and you are ready to build your first coach.
Steps
- 1Click "Sign In / Sign Up" from the navigation bar
- 2Choose your preferred sign-up method — email or social login
- 3Verify your email if prompted
- 4You are in — CleverYou is ready for you
Understanding Your Plan
CleverYou has three plans. Every account starts on Curious (free) which gives you access to 3 coaches and 10 sessions per month. Upgrading to Clever or Genius unlocks more coaches, unlimited sessions, CleverNotes, session recaps, and more. You can upgrade at any time from the Clever Plans page.

Live- Curious (free) — 3 coaches, 10 sessions per month, basic recaps
- Clever — 15 coaches per month, 100 sessions, full CleverNotes access, progress reports
- Genius — unlimited coaches, unlimited sessions, full CleverNotes, Researcher Suite, priority support
Creating Your First CleverCoach
Your CleverCoach is your personal AI tutor. You choose the subject, the voice, the style, and the topic — and the coach adapts to you in real time. You can create multiple coaches for different subjects and reuse them any time.
Steps
- 1Click "Create Coach" from your dashboard, the plus icon in the navigation, the coach library, or the home page
- 2Give your coach a name and choose a subject
- 3Select a voice — Male or Female, each with distinct characteristics
- 4Choose a communication style — Formal, Casual and more
- 5Write a topic or description for your first session
- 6Set a session duration
- 7Click "Build Your CleverCoach" — your coach is ready
Starting a Session
Once your coach is built, starting a session is one click. The session opens in a full-screen layout with your coach on the left, a live transcript in the centre, and session info on the right. On mobile, everything is organised into tabs — Coach, Chat, Info, Recap, and Notes.
Steps
- 1From your coach library or dashboard, click on your coach
- 2Click "Start Session" — your microphone will activate
- 3Speak naturally — your coach listens and responds in real time
- 4Use the Mute button if you need to pause
- 5Click "End Session" when you are done — your recap generates automatically
Session Memory & Privacy Reset
Every CleverYou session starts fresh. Your coach does not carry memory from a previous conversation into a new one. This is intentional — not a limitation.
Our Commitments
- Freshness — each session is a clean slate, so your coach is fully focused on exactly what you want to cover today, not anchored to a previous conversation
- Privacy & security — no conversation history is held in the AI context between sessions, meaning your previous discussions are never exposed or accessible in future sessions
- Performance — fresh sessions ensure consistent, high-quality responses without the degradation that can occur in very long conversation histories
- Flexibility — you can take the same subject in a completely different direction each time without the coach trying to connect it to what you discussed before
- Your session history, recaps, and notes are still saved in your dashboard — only the live AI conversation context resets, not your learning record
After Your Session
Every session ends with an automatically generated recap. On Clever and Genius plans this includes a full summary, key takeaways, a progress note, and a quick-check quiz. You can save your recap directly to CleverNotes for future study. Your session is also added to your history in the dashboard.

Getting the Most Out of CleverYou
CleverYou works best when you treat it like a real tutor session — not a search engine. Ask it to explain things differently if the first explanation does not click. Push back. Ask for examples. The more you engage, the more the coach adapts. A few things that make sessions better:

- Be specific with your topic — "teach me the causes of World War I through the lens of human decisions" gets better results than "teach me history"
- Use the Community Prompts library for inspiration — get curated coach prompts across all 8 subjects at /community
- Take notes during the session using the Notes tab (mobile) or the floating notepad (desktop)
- Review your recap after every session — the quiz is genuinely useful for retention
- Build separate coaches for different subjects to keep your learning organised
